Twelve Days Of Christmas

We were learning about getting creative with my group and coming up with our own ideas on the story, Twelve days of Christmas. 

 I found it easy to insert the backgrounds of each slides because you just had to insert the background on what the slide is talking about, my favourite one is the chicken and chips slide because it looks delicious. 

 I found it hard to plan out what ones we would do because it was so hard and we had to use our brains even harder. 

 Next time I will work more cooperatively because some times our work was deleted.

What Christmas Means To Me Animation

We were learning about writing a letter to the Gisborne Herald, and what christmas means to us, this is a little animation and writing so enjoy! 

 I found it easy to think about what my animation will look like because I have already thought about how fancy my animation will be and the items I wil use. 

I found it hard to think about an amazing outro for the animation because I wanted to be very creative. 

Next time I will think harder about the time when Santa was about to eat the cookies but then it just dissapeared.

Cheeky squirrel on the loose!

We were learning about retelling a story about this hawk trying to hunt this squirrel, luckily the squirrel won.

 I found it easy to decide what animal I could be because it was optional for us to choose what animal is best for us 

 I found it hard to change boring words into rich words because there was heaps you could put in but I didn't know what one to do because you can find a word better than the other 

 Next time I can improve is to make sure I dont write "had" instead of have.

Fire Works Acrostic Poem

We were learning about how to write an acrostic poem about fireworks, I had really fun doing it because I had never done it before 

 I found it easy to add the detail to the background because I had already had it in mind that I would add fire works png images to make it fancy 

 

I found it hard to think about the W in the fire works word because I didn't really want to copy the example on the screen of the TV because I had to come up with even more creative ideas. 

 Next time I will make my words a bit smaller so I can fit more png fire works images in.

Media Poster!

We were learning about making evaluating media posters, mine was about Robert Downey Jr. because i'm a fan of marvel and I like watching his movies 

 

I found it easy to figure out what person I gotta do because I had already had it in mind so I chose Robert Downey Jr. 

 

I found it hard to find out what quote I will pick because there was a dozen of them and I can only choose one so I chose “I think that we all do heroic things, but hero is not a noun, it's a verb.” 

 Next time I will add more detail to my picture because I couldn't quite fit some more iron man suits or the Marvel logo.

Colours In Maori

We were learning about the colours in Maori, my favourite colour in maori is pango which is black. 

 

I found it easy to look up onto the board to see the colours in Maori because Mrs Barker already writ it there. 

 I found it hard to write the colours in Maori because I didn't really understand the "Ma Whero" and the "Whero" 

 Next time I will spell the colours correctly first time, because I got all of them wrong when I write them down first time.

Making Postcards

We were learning about making postcards to people that we know for example: Mum, Dad, Nan, or probably your future self I enjoyed making this. And we also learnt about to not to trust people giving out money or free Iphones because it's just a scam, also we got to look for the padlock and the proper https URL.

 

I found it easy to delete the background of my image, I also erased a little bit of the side. 

 

I found it hard to think of what I can write in my post card because I was getting a bit distracted by my team mates but still managed to finish it. 

 Next time I will write more on my post card and explain more of what I did in "California" :)

My Reflection On Bikes In Schools Learning

 We were refreshing our brains on what a good recount is, we all agreed to choose bikes in schools recount. Bikes in schools is a program that helps kids learn about bikes and how to use them safely and properly. We had Koka Anelia and Koka Jules teach us the safety about bikes and helmets, and how to not injure yourself if your going biking.

We were learning about bikes in schools with Koka Anelia and Koka Jules, they do a little program with many schools around our country and were lucky that we get to ride the bikes, because I haven't rid our school bikes since last year's school triathlon. We also did learnt about the ABCD Quick Release thing.

I found it easy to ride the big bikes because it was nice and big, and easier to ride on for tall enough kids like me and Ebony for example.

I found it hard to go around the corners fast because they got really narrow, and the track was kind of slippery to ride on and people were going slow on the corners and I wanted to go fast but then I realised they went slow for safety on the corners, but then they went rapid fast on the straight tracks

Next time I will not be scared to go on the pump track because I always said that i'm gonna go on it but then I was being too scared to go on it but as I went on it, the lesson already ended and I was quite sad because I didn't get to show confidence.

10 Things That Are In A Important To Remember In a Recount.

 Hello! Curtis and I are listing 10 things that are important to remember in a recount.

I found it easy to list the top 5 things because I had them all in my mind but some of them Curtis did as well, I will also narrow down my listed things.

 I found it hard to think about the facts very quick.

1. Correct tense, Past, Present or future.

2. Detailed and descriptive sentences, use very rich words.

3. Correct punctuation like Commas, exclamation marks! Question marks? Also put them in the right place.

4. Language features like Onomatopoeia, alliteration.

5. Paragraphs with the correct writing words, and narrowing it down.

6. Include senses like, hear, see, touch, smell, taste.

7. Editing (Make sure the editing that you have done makes sense)

8. Full sentences so the sentence makes sense.

9. Use who, what, where, when, why should be added to your recount

10. Use emotions, explain how it made you feel.

Native Bird Drawing

We were learning about native birds and their habitats and their predators, we also drawed some google drawings about native birds and some traps. 

 I found it hard to polyline the birds because I added so much detail to it so then I had to colour it all in because a bird wouldnt look like a bird without any colour. 

 

I found it easy to draw the fountain because you just had to simply do the polyline of it and just colour it in and put some splash images on it. 

 Next time I will Add more detail to my bird on its colour.

Bird Learning With Group

We were learning about what a bird is and explain the different types of birds, and either if they are a native, endemic or introduced bird, most birds I found were in the introduced type. 

 

I found it challenging to make my polyline of a wandering albatross, I found it hard to do that because I had to add a lot of detail on their wings and it was shocking when I just learnt it had a 3 - 3.5 meter wingspan depended on what type of albatross it is. 

 I found it easy to insert the pictures of the birds that were introduced, native, or endemic birds. It was easier because we were allowed to label the name of that bird, and Isobel helped me label it. 

 Next time I will add more detail into my sentences because they were only 4 or 3 sentences long, some of       the sentences I didnt quite understand because some of my team members put in some weird words but it     was okay.

 

Persuasive Poster

We were learning about making a persuasive poster and persuading someone to buy our product

 I found it easy to find the special offer logo

 I found it hard to come up with a name of my watch because I cant go for a popular one otherwise it'll be copyright

 Next time I will add more detail to my watch

The Fantastic Awapuni Fun Run  30.07.20

1. Waiting patiently on the blue mat

3. Team Toroa’s turn

We just made it to the Awapuni rugby fields. I sat down on the bright blue mat waiting patiently for our turn. It was a nice and shiny day. A day for the exciting fun run. I just found out that our turn wasn’t till 11:50! Which was about an hour away. I can’t wait an hour because I would easily get bored.  A few minutes in I started to get impatient. I looked at the windy swaying trees and daydreamed for like a minute and just imagined how fun it’ll be to run right now. I then stopped and looked over my shoulder and saw my friends playing hand games and asked if I could play. “Can I play next round?” I asked Archie.

“Sure.” He replied. It was my turn to play and we played happily for about 10 minutes.

I saw Team Pukeko about to start their turn. Mr Barclay started the hooter and off they went to run. I giggled a bit when a kid fell into the mud. Ceejay and I were just sitting there watching and cheering them on as they were sliding on the slip n’ slide. I bet they had a fun turn. It was now Team Weka’s turn to run. I stood up and cheered them on. I felt kinda bored after I cheered them on, I just watched the trees as I was daydreaming again. thinking of how much yuck mud I will get and how much colourful paint would get on my face. 

At last it was finally Team Toroa’s turn to run. I have waited for this moment this whole entire day and yesterday. “Team Toroa! Please go to your flags!” Mr House yelled. I arrived at the blue flag where the year 5 boys had to go. I was quite scared at first because we were gonna run right through the paint. “This is gonna b-” In the middle of my sentence the hooter just shot out of nowhere. “Lets Go!” I yelled with excitement. As I was running, I got splattered with colourful paint, as I knew it I got colourful paint in my mouth. “Ew! Disgusting.” I said as I was trying to get it outta my mouth. I leaped over the hay bales like I was catching prey. I finally reached the yuck brown mud pit. I jumped in and it was about an ankle deep. step by step it got deeper and colder. “Gross!” I yelled. I just got out of the freezing mud pit, I saw something blue in front of me. It had soap on it and water. When the sun reflection got out of my eyes it was the slip ‘n slide! I was sprinting as fast as I could and slid on the slip ‘n slide and it looked like I was sliding to get a rugby try. It was just the thing I was waiting for this whole entire tiring day. I scrambled under the green net, It was the most fabulous day ever.

 I found it easy to... Find the cursors to make the click cursor and looks like im clicking the "Enter your comment"

 I found it hard to... Find a big word called published but couldn't find one so I made it with word art.

 Next time I will... Add more colour to my "Published!" Word art, also trying to make the background bigger.

Hello! My name is Rautaki, I go to Awapuni School, I have 2 brothers, I have a dog named Roxie. I like to eat Fruit and vegetables. My languages are Maori, Scottish, English and French.
I'm good at Sports, Reading, Spelling and writing. My goal for this year is to get 90 gotchas.
I inspire Beauden Barrett because he is a good rugby player, I'm looking forward to playing some more rugby and soccer and for Covid - 19 To end. My favourite thing about rugby is I get to be tackled and I get to tackle others. My favourite thing about soccer is that I always practice and practice makes perfect. Kayaking

Kayaking             16.3.20

“Yass! We finally got to go kayaking.” I said in a normal voice.

“Okay boys, lets go kayaking.” Yay!!! We all jumped with excitement.

We hopped on the kayaks and started kayaking. “This canoe is a bit rocky.” I said.

“Wow!” It’s been ages since i’ve been kayaking. I said in a normal voice.

“Whenever you paddle, it creates a vortex in the water.” I said to Mana.

“I know, it looks cool.” Mana replied.

“Is there any eels in the water?” I said to Rachel.

“Yup, there are some eels in the water and there’s some little fish in the water too.

When we were kayaking, we saw a tree with a ladder attached to it.

“Can we please jump off the tree?” said Rhodes.

“Sure!” Rachel replied.

“Yay!” we all jumped excitedly.

“I wanna try the rope swing.” I said to Rachel.

“Sure go for it. Rachel replied.

I swang off the tree into the water.

Woohoo! “That was fun!” I said to Rachel.

I saw Mana climb the ladder that was attached to the humongous tree.

“I dare you to jump off.” I said to Mana

“Okay!” He replied.

“3,2,1 jump!” I yelled.

Kaboom!

“That splash was huge! Yelled Archie.

It was my turn to jump off the tree but it looked higher than you think.

I was ready to jump until I felt butterflies in my stomach and shivers down my spine.

I climbed down carefully and didn’t wanna jump.
